In 2014, only 26% of U.S. angel investors were women and only 8% were minorities, according to the Center for Venture Research.
Pipeline Fellowship, an angel investing bootcamp for women, works to increase diversity in the U.S. angel investing community and creates capital for women social entrepreneurs.
Since its April 2011 launch, more than 100 women have graduated from the program and over 15 women-led for-profit social ventures have secured funding. One of these companies has already exited in under five years.
Pipeline Fellowship alumnae have continued to invest in startups, joined later stage angel networks, and created their own angel groups, unleashing capital beyond the Pipeline Fellowship investment commitment.
Pipeline Fellowship operates in Albuquerque, Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Boulder, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, LA, Memphis, Miami, NYC, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Silicon Valley, St. Louis, Vegas, and DC.
